Milestone may be the wrong word but I couldn’t think of one better.
One of the benefits that my husband and I liked about this kink is that I would get to experience a variety of guys since I lacked that from being in long term relationships….well it occurred to us that I’ve now slept with more people than he has.
It was something we joked about happening when we were starting out and now it’s a reality (despite me thinking it would never really happen). I was actually kind of planning to stop before or at his number just to square things up. Well that didn’t happen…so has anyone else had the same or something similar happen? We’ve been having a lot of fun and it’s been great to meet and experience a few different types of guys and I definitely feel like I’m making up for what I didn’t experience in my past. So I’m grateful for that and that I’ve been fortunate enough to continue my streak of amazing sex, great guys, and lots of positive memories.
Also since it’s somewhat related: We call each encounter/guy by a version number (yes, like software) so since my husband was the 3rd guy I’d ever been with we started there….so now we say I’m on version 3.1, v3.2, v3.3, etc…
We truly don’t mean it in a dismissive or objectifying way…it helps when we’re talking in front of our kids and we can say v3.3 called and wants to meet on Tuesday, they zone out but if we say John Doe wants to meet for drinks they’d ask a million questions about John Doe…it’s all in fun and we call people by their names and are very respectful of the guys I’ve met when talking between us or about them.
